Here is what sets my private coaching apart. I’ve hired trainers, nutrition coaches, and registered dieticians. There was always something missing. I’d get a great workout plan that didn’t come with nutrition or the nutrition didn’t match the fitness level. I’d get silly ‘low calorie’ plans that didn’t fit with my lifestyle. Very few take your real life stress and struggle into account. This motivated me to take my experiences and combine them into a vision of what the perfect health plan will include. Paying it forward means educating so that you can take this information with you the rest of your life. You can pay it forward with your friends and family. How great would it be if YOU became the ‘go to’ for health and fitness questions? This is NOT a quick fix. This is a lifestyle change that teaches you how to implement processes that will pay off many years down the road.
My Health & Wellness Journey
2013- a nodule was removed from my thyroid including ½ my thyroid. Fortunately, the nodule was benign, but it gave me an excuse. A crutch. Gaining weight? Thyroid. It must be the thyroid. Doctor after doctor just went ahead and increased my dose of thyroid medicine. The only dietary change suggested was to eat about 800 calories. EIGHT HUNDRED CALORIES! No way. Once I found the proper diet for me (whole foods like lean meats (especially steak), fruits, veggies, and carb sources like potatoes) I was able to control my weight. It wasn’t my thyroid as much as it was the food choices.
2014- Divorce. That is stressful for everyone. Family, kids, friends. I lost 30 lbs. in 2 months. That ISNT the way you want to lose weight. In 2015 I gained it all back and then some. It inspired me to hire a coach. Someone to teach me ‘the ropes’ of exercise and nutrition. That started my journey into the interest of coaching.
2016- I tore my pec while bench pressing. What a great learning experience! I understood how it happened and why it happened. This motivated me to earn certifications from NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) in personal training and fitness nutrition. I was inspired to help others avoid this and other preventable injuries.
2019 – fast forward a few years and all was great. Excellent job and remarried. I still felt a gap in my life. Have you ever felt that? I needed to
help others. Where would I start? Start by improving myself to help others. I needed to hire another coach. Not just any coach. THE perfect fit for me. Someone who could put it all together – Fitness, Nutrition, Mindset – complete human optimization. I started to look for someone that aligned with my principles. There are a lot of great coaches but not all coaches can connect with YOU.
2020 – I signed up with one of the best fitness coaches in the world. THEN the pandemic hit. Everyone was unsure and unsettled. Some panic as you know. My coach and the other peers in his group helped me focus. Stay the course. Workouts that are intense but safe. Nutrition that fit ME – not any fad diets. Shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset. Reading book after book learning as much as possible. YES! Finally, a program that included everything from nutrition to fitness to recovery.
I was inspired to get my Nutrition Coaching certification through Nutrition Coaching Institute (NCI). Teaching others how to fit their own nutrition principles into their life. Customizing nutrition for the individual and not the other way around. Creating nutrition plans to fit your goal – regardless if its’ to lose weight, build muscle, train for a sport or event or all of the above. Inspiring others to follow their passions like I followed mine. Shouldn’t you do what makes YOU happy? Shouldn’t you connect with like minded individuals?
